What is Advance Pediatric Life Support?
Pediatric Advanced Life Support is put in place for health care practitioners to properly respond to critically injured patients suffering from cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary conditions, especially among infants and children. Pediatric Advanced Life Support or PALS is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to emphasize the importance of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics. This program is offered in South Florida Health Care Institute in Inverrary Blvd. Lauderhill Florida. If you pass PALS classes, you are given a PALS Certification which will help you proceed further into your medical practice.
South Florida Health Care Institute in Inverrary Blvd. Lauderhill Florida equips students with the important tools and knowledge to handle emergencies. It is never a bad idea to be prepared. The American Heart Association took this belief by heart, which served as the basis for their Pediatric Advanced Life Support or PALS program. AHA originally developed PALS classes in 1983 as a response to the needs of resuscitation guidelines and trainings in providing care for patients especially for children.
Students are encouraged to learn life-saving skills individually then adjust accordingly when working with a team. Simulations are provided to object the student to different cases and scenarios which will make them adept in handling emergency medical situations. These simulations include concepts such as;
- basic life support care
- cardiac arrest management
- recognition and early management initiation for peri-conditions
- ischemic chest pain and coronary syndrome identification and treatment
- effective team interaction
- identification of life-threatening conditions in order to administer initial care
Similar to other classes and courses students have a classroom-based education taught by an instructor with videos and skills as teaching aides. Throughout the training, students are required to participate in clinical cases. At the end of the course, a written examination is conducted which will gauge the student’s knowledge and acquire skills during the training. After having completed these, the students will be given their certification. South Florida Health Care Institute in Inverrary Blvd. Lauderhill Florida follows this standard with our PALS training course.
