5 Habits That Put Your Heart in Danger
You may feel well now, but that won’t be the case if you continue to keep your heart’s health for granted.

  • Staying seated for too long.

    A sedentary lifestyle is quite common in this day and age. Still, there are other ways for you to remain active. You can take a walk or jog a little in the morning before you get to work. At the office, you can try using the stairs instead of the elevator to build up some cardiovascular exercise. There are a lot of creative ways you can try. See what works best for you and apply it to your daily schedule.

  • Lacking hours of sleep.

    Frankly, how many hours of sleep do you even get at night? On an average, we need at least 7-9 hours of sleep to keep our mind, heart, and body healthy. If you’re having trouble getting some ZZZs, you can make use of a sleeping mask to block out the light and stimulate the production of a sleep-inducing hormone. Another option you can try is to play calming music in the background to soothe your nerves or spritz room freshener to relax your senses.

  • Bottling your stress.

    Stress is a part of everyday life. It can cause your blood pressure to dangerously elevate and put your heart health at risk. Stress may not be completely avoided. However, it can be easily regulated! Whenever you feel overwhelmed, make sure you find time to relax later. You can meet up with friends, write your thoughts down in a journal, post a blog, or have fun with the family. Remember, it’s important for us to keep balance in life!

  • Eating unhealthy foods.

    Ah, a lot of us are guilty of this. Working adults are especially busy and are often tempted to just get a snack from the nearest convenient store. And guess what, a lot of chemicals in processed food can do your heart some damage. A quick hack you can do to save both time and money is to try meal planning. You can prepare healthier food in the weekend, store them in microwaveable containers, and you can just heat them up at the office!

  • Drinking a lot of alcohol.

    There’s nothing wrong with drinking liquor as long as you take it in moderation. Too much can be toxic to your heart. If you plan on joining the rest of your friends for a night out, you can offer to be the designated driver. That way you will be more aware of how much you drink. Plus, you get to come home without having a hangover!
