This health issue (cardiac arrest) is prevalent in the United States wherein 357,000 Americans are affected and about 70 percent to 90 percent of people die before even getting to the hospital. Because of this, it is very important for you to learn the basics when it comes to responding to cardiac arrest. In this way, you can help save a victim’s life.

The following is a list of things you need to remember when you help someone experiencing a cardiac arrest:

  • Remain calm
This is the first and foremost step you need to remember. Keep calm at all times because when you remain calm you are able to think clearly and correctly.
  • Call for backup
It is always better to call the experts. This is why you should tell someone to call for the emergency response team or simply call 911.
